3‑cylinder CDI ignition for radial engines, manufactured by RCXEL (China).
This unit offers automatic advance, also known as the “Syncro Spark” feature, to help prevent kickback during starting.
Recommended flip rate is around 400–600 RPM and the flip must be a firm, positive grab of the prop. A slower flip than about 400 RPM can cause kickback, so always use a glove or starter stick for safety.
Static timing is set to 30 degrees BTDC when the magnet and sensor first make contact.
For easy starting, all 3 spark plugs fire under 200 RPM; once the engine passes that RPM, the normal firing order starts: 1‑3‑2.
Since we manufacture these CDI units, we can build them according to your specific needs.
